Welcome to my website! I'm Quynh (Quinn), an Applied Computational and Mathematical Sciences major at the University of Washington. I am excited to uncover patterns in data with analytic tools and dive more into data science with my foundation in mathematics.

  • Develop data management tables on MongoDB and functional REST API calls on Node.js for backend web development. In the progress of designing authentication protocols and integrating UW NetID login.
  • NEXUS.Builders is a project-finder hub for motivated students to build on professional skills and work on their passion outside the scope of the classroom.

Portfolio Visualizer

Personal Project

Using Python to create an interactive financial charting dashboard and allow users to simulate portfolio diversification scenarios. Users can compare returns history of the top 5 S&P 500 stocks (AAPL, AMZN, FB, TSLA, MSFT). The goal of this project is to help introduce portfolio diversification to newbies in Finance and utilize optimization analysis in several scenarios.

Upcoming features: Try out different weights strategies, and see actual optimal weights (rebalance monthly, yearly, or no rebalance options).

Tweet Trendsyis

Personal Project

Using Flask to fetch region hashtag trends from Twitter API, obtain sample of popular tweets for quick sentimal analysis with spaCy TextBlob and torchMoji (describing text with emojis). Users can explore a diversified trending topics and gain a better viewpoint on international news.

Upcoming features: Try out different language detection and analysis, emoji application.

COVID-19 Dashboard

Personal Project

Using dataset from the CDC on COVID-19 cases and deaths to create an informative dashboard on cases and deaths by COVID-19 by states and counties. User can select individual state to view COVID cases and deaths in addition to seeing time series of the growth overtime.
